one way to center yourself in your meditation is to run your attention from the left side of your brain to the right in a figure-8 manner.
find a comfortable place, get into a comfortable seated position and close your eyes. you can also do this lying down, but you may fall asleep. picture the infinity symbol in your mind bridging your left and right hemispheres. now run your attention along the figure eight going from one side to the other while breathing in and out. In-breath to one side, out-breath to the other, and repeat for as long as it feels good to you.
